Quick recovery

Recipes look missing

Check the selected kitchen and clear searches or filters. Local kitchen and shared kitchens are separate. If recipes are still missing, stop and report the problem before restoring a backup, reinstalling or deleting anything.

An import is incomplete or rejected

Compare the preview with the original. Ingredients or steps may already be missing from the source. Review warnings before saving. For an HTML encoding error, save a UTF-8 copy from the original app and retry. For an oversized image, make a smaller copy. Keep original files.

Check that the address uses HTTPS and belongs to a supported publisher. For other sites or signed-in pages, try the Safari capture action if available and review the visible result, or paste text you can access. Risoni does not bypass subscriptions or retrieve social videos.

A shopping amount looks wrong

Open the item's From… source or Edit item → Recipe sources. Compare the original ingredient with the planned servings. Correct the shopping amount or omit the item; the recipe stays unchanged.

A timer did not alert

Reopen cooking to check its saved deadline. Audible alerts while the app is closed or in the background, or the Mac is locked, are not verified. Use a separate kitchen or system timer when you need a reliable alert.

Mac will not open, or two copies appear

Save edits and quit both copies, then open only the approved Risoni copy in Applications. If macOS rejects it, report the exact message. Do not bypass security, remove library folders or overwrite an older install until the supported upgrade instructions are confirmed.

Report a problem

Use the Mac feedback form. It accepts text only, so describe what you see and copy exact error wording. Automatic Mac crash collection is not promised.

Include:

  1. Where: Mac model, macOS version and Risoni version/build, if available. Say if you cannot find the app version.
  2. What you tried: two or three numbered actions, and whether you used Local kitchen or a test shared kitchen.
  3. Expected and actual result: what you expected and what happened, including exact error text.
  4. Repeatability: once or every time, and whether reopening changed it.

Example: “Mac. In Local kitchen, I planned Test Soup for Friday, opened Shopping and changed Amount to 2. Save item stayed dim. Reopening the sheet did not help.”

Use made-up examples. Do not include passwords, verification codes, private invitation links, account details, private recipes, your recipe library/database or a full Console log.

Reports are stored privately for human review, with no public report list. The form does not collect recipe-library or account telemetry. Feedback text does not automatically run commands or change the app.

If you suspect lost or changed data, stop editing that item, preserve the original export and report it. Do not try repeated restores or reinstall as your first step.
